Need inspiration for your florist business name?

Updated: Oct 29, 2024

Your business name should reflect your personality. People remember original and short brand names. Small business owners typically use 2 to 3 words for their business.

And it’s all because we’re living in a world where ads are everywhere. All brands want to be remembered and the best way to do so is to use a catchy (unforgettable) name.

Remember that detail if you’re tempted to use something too extravagant.

You probably know it by now, I’m using social media to market myself and I can tell you that I’m always amazed when I discover original and creative florist names. By the way, if you're new here. My name is Francia and I'm a Digital Marketer helping florists build and launch their website. I'm also sharing Floral Marketing Tips on this blog. Stay tuned for more tips and advices to grow your flower business.

Back to the topic!

If you need inspiration because you’re thinking of a rebrand or you’re in the early stages of your journey then here are the most commonly used words I’ve seen so far.

Table of contents

1)The core of your services

You don’t have to use any of these words but I can guarantee that probably 85% of florists incorporated at least one of them in their names.

flowers

florist

floristry

flourish

flourishing

fleur

bouquet

bloom

blooming

blossom

blossoming

seed

petal

stems

leaft

2)The 2nd word could be your business model.

How are you operating? Are you a freelance florist or do you own a floral shop?

Again, this is not mandatory but it can clarify your customers’ expectations on how you’re running your business.

garden

farm

studio

shop

boutique

designer

wedding

events

design

3) Describe the essence of your brand

What’s your aesthetic and how do you want to be perceived?

You can skip this one if you’re not into details and you couldn’t care less about targeting a specific type of customers.

wild

sweet

lovely

soft

dreamy

darling

ethereal

enchanting

vintage

silky

sun

4)Use these complimentary words

Same thing as above, you can totally dismiss this section but I believe that your customers will connect more with you if they know what you’re standing for. Tell them more about your values.

art

luxury

passion

heart

love

pearl

faith

joy

fairy

scent

charm

Still not impressed by this list?

a) Feel free to use your favorite flowers!

It looks like many florists love doing it. Is there any science behind it? I don’t know but it’s literally everywhere on my feed.

daisy

petunia

rose

dahlia

posy

lilies

camellia

iris

lavender

orchid

lilac

carnation

b) Pick your favorite color

There’s no limit! Play with the words till you find the perfect combination.

red

pink

blue

green

peach

gold

white

pastel

purple

c)Add your favourite season

Some florists are using their favorite season. Give it a try.

  1. Autumn - fall

  2. Summer

  3. Winter (I haven’t seen it much but go for it if you like it)

  4. Spring

d)Include an animal

Caution: I’ve never seen anything with “horse” or “bear” or “snake” Please be mindful with your choice. But listen, if you really love horses or snakes then do it. Your customers will love you for being authentic.

  • bee

  • bird

  • butterfly

  • rabbit

  • fox

5)And we’re ending with the right prepositions:

with - by - in

If all of this seems overwhelming, you can make it simple by using your first name and/or your location.

Hope you found this guide helpful, feel free to share it with a fellow florist who might need it.

Examples:

  • Ethereal Designs by Emily

  • Pink Peonies NYC

  • Violets Wedding Studio

  • Red Luxury Flowers

  • Sweet Posy Floristry

After picking the right name for your floral business, you’re probably going to think about your logo. That’s why I released an article on how to choose your branding colors. Just like your name, you can’t be careless when it comes to your logo colors.

You’ll also probably wonder if you should be building a website in the beginning or not. And I’m here to tell you that having a website depends on your business goals.

Luckily for you, I’m a Web Designer building websites for florists so here’s my take on this: check out if you’re at a stage where you need a website first.
